St Patrick"s Day

Seems like everybody becomes Irish on St. Patrick's Day. To my knowledge, there are no links to Ireland in my ancestry. However, my wife is Irish on her mother's side.

I do enjoy the Irish proverbs, sayings and limericks. I found a few of them and combined them, tweaked a few of the words to make things rhyme and added some thoughts of my own to get today's posting. The clip-art was found on the internet.

Irish note to a loved one:

The treasures in life are many
While the dreams realized are few
But I felt the joy of God's goodness
When he gave to me, a friend like you
If I had a flower every time I thought of you
I could walk through my garden forever

Irish wish:

May your troubles be less
And your blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door

May the luck of the Irish
Lead to the happiest of heights
And the highway you travel
Be lined with green lights

May you have food to be eaten
A soft pillow for your head
May you be forty years in heaven
Before the devil knows you're dead

Irish toast:

Here's to the person who smiles
When life runs along like a song
And here's to all who can smile
Even though everything goes wrong

Stuff:

This limerick is pretty much as I found it on the internet. . . .

Irish Drinking toast:

When we drink, we get drunk
When we get drunk, we fall asleep
When we fall asleep, we commit no sins
When we commit no sins, we go to heaven
So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven
